Our adventure finding a cottage on Tybee Island and turning it into a luscious retreat for our family, friends, and rental guests including pets. We may be crazy but think people will enjoy taking their pets with them on vacation and we are optimistic that they will appreciate the opportunity and respect our cottage and furnishings. I have had several inquiries for information on renting our Cottage. Contact www.mermaidcottages.com for additional information on renting Paws & and Paddles.

Looking forward to a week at Paws & Paddles in April!
Third Bedroom...love how my little chest turned out after painting it! I have had this as long as I can remember. Made a perfect night stand with extra storage. The closets are large and also have cubbies for folded items so this is plenty of storage.
Hershey is scheduled for his haircut so he will be all spiffy for his trip to Paws and Paddles! His doggie bed is there waiting for him...thanks to Jane Coslick!
His bed has a cute sign over it...not in the picture...that says RUFF Life!
Front sunny bedroom at Paws & Paddles...love the colors!
Great Room at Paws and Paddles...comfy couch always puts me to sleep when I read or attempt to watch TV in the evenings after a full day of biking and beaching.
One of two bathrooms. This one is on a separate hallway between the two guest rooms. Ours is off the Master Bedroom. I much perfer the Outdoor Shower...even used it in November...very private and there is nothing like palm trees and blue skies for a ceiling!

Missing all Things Tybee...
We are having Tybee withdrawal pains since we have only spent two days at Paws and Paddles this year. We are planning on a full week in April and looking forward to enjoying some of those warm sunny days on the back sun porch. Thinking about all those fat Georgia shrimp and oysters from Bowie's seafood shop across the street and hoping the Jitterbug Cafe gets open while we are there...a veggie restaurant, bakery and coffee shop right across the way...perfect for us!
Looking forward to some time on the beach!
And lots and lots of biking on the beach and around the island...love to bike over to watch the sunrise at the lighthouse and swing on the old fashioned wooden beach swings that dot the beach. We only use the car when we venture into beautiful Savannah which is only 15 to 20 minutes away. The rest of the time we bike or walk everywhere on the island. Paws and Paddles is located on the quiet north end of the island and is convenient to everything we enjoy including a nature trail nearby that goes back into the marsh.
We enjoy all the birds and wildlife that we see on Tybee...this is a marsh view off of the bike path near the campground.
Looking forward to going night night in the big king size bed at Paws and Paddles...soon!

Jitterbug is Coming to Tybee! Across the street from Paws & Paddles!
We are thrilled to hear that Jitterbuy is coming across the street. Coffes, Teas, Bakery, Soups, Veggie options...which is perfect for us! Sounds like an interesting concept. The owner is with Word Press the blogger company and will also offer wifi and lessons on setting up web sites and blogs. I could use that as well! Their motto Eat, Drink, Blog!
The menu on their web site looks great. Just a few special things each day in addition to the bakery items. I always tend to order what the special of the day is since I figure the cook knows what is best that day. I liked her thought of specializing to keep it fast and simple...just trust they will have something you like. They will be open for breakfast which will be awesome...a nice cup of coffee and a small sinful treat to start the day!
I will get more details on our March visit.
